About Blue North Strategies
Blue North is a marketing agency of roughly 25 people based in Guelph, Ontario. We replace old-fashioned mass communications approaches with highly focused personalized communications programs, in which each member of the audience enjoys an experience that reflects their unique relationship with the organization.
In our financial communications division, we deliver on that mission by helping our clients sort through their communications needs, develop a strategy, and execute them. One of our core competencies is helping organizations maximize the value they get from the transactional documents they send their customers on a regular basis: bills, statements, policies, etc.
We're looking for a seasoned subject matter expert in this field who can augment and extend the value we're already bringing to many blue-chip clients in Canada, the United States, and internationally.
Primary Responsibilities
Here are the kinds of things we expect a financial communications consultant to do:
> Lead an organization through a discovery process, and present the findings and outcomes to the bigwigs (read: C-level executives)
> Define and articulate a communication's strategy
> Educate clients on what's happening in the industry, and which trends are important
> Develop creative briefs and concepts that provide direction to a creative team
> Work with a creative team to deliver world-class transactional communications
Skills
If you're a financial communications consultant, here's what we expect you to be good at:
> Understanding the principles of information design, and bringing clarity and order from a bunch of data scattered throughout a poorly-designed document
> Being conversant in the language of financial services, and an implicitly understanding how to organize financial information within a document
> Understanding the move towards personalization, and leading an organization through a messaging strategy that marries effective content to information design
> Understanding that statement design is not fundamentally about pretty-looking documents, it's about understanding an organization's strategic marketing objectives, and reflecting those objectives in all customer touchpoints
> Understanding the constraints and opportunities presented by modern-day production environments and bringing those considerations to all aspects of a project
