At Blue North we specialize in personalized communications, which merge data, content and imagery to deliver the right messages to the right people at the right times. We call it White Page Marketing™. It’s part art, part science, and if you want to give your communications programs a serious shot in the arm it's for you.
As the Vice President of Customer Services at Blue North, Dave makes it his business to ensure our clients are feeling the love - and the Blue North Magic - at every stage of the process. Dave does this by supporting account managers as they deliver the goods, and by helping clients identify and prioritize opportunities.
Dave joined Blue North in 2008 with a mandate to provide consulting support to our clients in the financial sector. He was instrumental in helping our clients identify cost savings opportunities and help them figure out where to start, and his unique background and expertise proved invaluable when measuring the tangible return on their investments.
Dave graduated from the University of Manitoba with a bachelor's degree in computer science, then honed his problem-solving skills as a software developer and consultant for six years. During that time, he was exposed to a wide range of industries and business challenges, including fire & ambulance dispatch systems and membership & dues management for labour organizations.
Dave also worked for the marketing giant Johnson & Johnson for eight years where he learned two critical things:
- How to get things done in a very large organization
- How to do direct-to-consumer marketing using segmentation and personalization, and then building and running the systems to carry out the vision
Dave's unique work history serves us well at Blue, given that this is an environment of complex personalization challenges and strategies.
On a personal note, Dave lives in Waterloo with his wife and three children. The kids are super busy - so when he's not at work, Dave hones his skills as a chauffeur and has most of the arenas in southern Ontario on his GPS. When he's got a bit of time to himself, he loves Ultimate Frisbee, walking, running and learning to play hockey.
