Consulting Analyst

 

Primary Responsibilities

The Consulting Analyst provides support to our fundraising consulting practice with the ability to rein in vast amounts of detail, make sense of it and provide a framework around it to deliver truly amazing client insights, supported by analytical models and tools. In addition, this role supports the client consulting practice by putting ‘meat on the directional bones’ laid out by our consultants.

 

Discovery

  • With direction from a lead consultant, develop the discussion guides, arrange, attend and participate in client meetings
  • Review artefacts provided by client, summarizing the facts on client practices
  • Track action items as they arise and follow up on them

 

Insights

  • Analyze client fundraising acquisition and cultivation campaigns distilling analysis into insights as input into recommendations 
  • Develop insights from Health of File analysis and quantifying opportunities on revenue potential and ROI
  • Update quarterly KPIs in preparation for internal and client discussions; investigate the underlying causes of significant variances
  • Provide data inputs into client financial models
  • Conduct other data file investigation including donor segmentation, prospect, upgrade, churn, lifetime value analysis
  • Peer review other team members analysis to ensure insights are complete, accurate, and formatted correctly
  • Prepare findings and present in internal reviews

 

Documentation

  • Under direction of consultant, provide input into the consulting reports, consolidating data analysis, discovery, benchmarks and other supporting information
  • Develop benchmarks collected across Health of File projects
  • Enhance the presentation of concepts and data insights through visualization 

 

Data Solutions

  • Support QA efforts, validating data is correctly calculated

 

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Excel with advanced capabilities including advanced formulas and pivot tables to analyze data; proficient with PowerPoint and data visualization to develop reports into high quality presentations
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI an asset
  • Some working experience on project-based, client-facing activities, ideally in a management consulting, and/or marketing environment
  • Ability to translate primary and secondary research into meaningful input for project materials
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks, and manage priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently to complete tasks, solve problems and learn new concepts; excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrates passion and desire to learn and a willingness to contribute to project success
  • Smart, ambitious, detail oriented, curious, energetic and confident
