DIGITAL STRATEGIST 

Job Title: digital strategist

Job Summary

 

The Digital Strategist is a trusted advisor to our non-profit clients, who assesses their needs and develops digital strategies for communication and fundraising programs that complement the overall marketing strategy. They have a passion for, and understanding of non-profits, and a solid understanding of email, web, social media, search, mobile, and digital advertising strategies and techniques. The Digital Strategist leads in the development of client digital strategy and collaborates with adjacent teams on creative development, media management, and overall execution.

What the job includes:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Through data analysis and experience, develops an understanding of and/or establishes client key strategic objectives
  • Assesses and understands fundraising platform capabilities/functionality and data management requirements to develop executable and measurable fundraising strategies
  • Works with the digital media team to establish budgets, pacing, and KPI’s
  • Understands how digital strategies, tactics, and tracking need to be constructed for effective monitoring, evaluation, and presentation of campaign results
  • Creates and/or collaborates with account teams to contribute to the development of, annual/quarterly campaign plans
  • Collaborates with account and creative teams on campaign brainstorm and leads the development of the campaign creative and messaging to meet objectives
  • Partners with the project, media, and creative teams to ensure flawless execution and active optimization of digital campaigns against authored plans
  • Manages the review, evaluation, and recommended changes to client results and testing schemas for each campaign
  • Manages expectations and makes persuasive arguments for our recommendations and outlining the impact if the client overrides our suggestions
  • Analyzes results from primary research to ensure insights are integrated into future work; adapts digital marketing strategies to reflect changes in customer behaviors
  • Understands and applies user experience best practices to build customer journeys through email and landing page design
  • Evaluates new technologies or marketing opportunities as they emerge and take an active lead on advancing the agency’s digital capabilities, emerging digital trends, ideas, and best practices
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

To be Successful:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Marketing, or Advertising
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing

--OR--

  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience with non-profit online marketing and fundraising programs
  • Agency or vendor experience is a plus

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Blackbaud/Luminate, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, Constant Contact, Emma, Online Express, Every Action, and other commonly-used nonprofit fundraising tools
  • Working knowledge of UX tools such as Hotjar or CrazyEgg
  • Experience with landing page testing tools such as Unbouce or Optimizely
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics and hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager
  • Experience with Facebook Business Manager, Google Adwords, and other prominent media platforms


Reporting Structure:

  • This role will report to the Senior Director of Digital Strategy
