Junior MS Database Developer

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Appeal Data Services, the Junior Database Developer is responsible for receiving, validating, adjusting and processing various data to support marketing campaigns and departments. The successful incumbent will work with project managers to ensure their data processing needs are met, respond to client inquiries and present effective solutions.


What you’ll do in the role:

  • Provide support and programming to all aspects of data from reporting, analytics, troubleshooting, updating, importing/exporting and transforming data
  • Complete documentation, transmission and validation of client data
  • Understand and perform required data transformations within a SQL Server environment using SSMS, SSIS

You bring to the role:

  • Ideally 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience building, using and monitoring data integration (ETL) workflows from multiple sources
  • Skilled at writing and optimizing ANSI SQL to support analysis, report design and other specialized data management functions
  • Experience using database technologies such as SQL Server and client tools like SSMS, SSIS
  • Working knowledge of application development and integration tools such as Visual Studio.NET
  • Advanced skill with Excel, Access, VBA, CSV and character encoding would be considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven track record of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
