Project Manager

Project Manager

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project and is responsible for co-ordination and completion of the project. To this end, the PM will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities and monitoring and summarizing progress of the project. The Project Manager is responsible for more than one project at a time. The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis and should have sufficient latitude to exercise a wide degree of creativity in performing this role.


 Project Management 

  • Plan projects in order to accomplish their goals or produce the products required within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards
  • Maintain project budgets and deliver the projects within the defined budgets
  • Meet with Account Manager regularly to update and inform them on the status of active projects and receive direction as required
  • Continuously monitor progress in terms of the status of the plan and the budget and report back via weekly or other progress reporting and by organizing and managing internal and client status meetings
  • Anticipate and catch deviations from a plan or schedule early; take corrective action as necessary and keep key participants and stakeholders informed as necessary
  • Identify, log, analyse and manage potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action and being aware of how more serious issues and risks might impact on scope, schedule, quality and cost
  • Communicate in a tactful manner to get ideas across to the team and client

 Team Management 

  • Identify the need for internal resources, and subsequently take on team management responsibilities in relation to the resources available to the project
  • Work directly with the team members to estimate effort, plan activities and negotiate consensus on their appointed tasks.
  • Manage and coordinate the work done by freelancers (who have been secured by Studio Traffic Coordinator)
  • Create timelines and use appropriate tools to manage team and tasks and keep up-to-date
  • Provide team with direction and vision, including leading and motivating people to perform, listening to people, and providing feedback on projects
  • Bring the project to a close, which may include creating an end of project report or evaluation document


  • Create a structure for project documentation and remain conscientious in using it and ensuring that the rest of the team understands and uses it
  • Follow the structure for project assets, including digital assets and remain conscientious in using it and ensuring that the rest of the team understands and uses it
  • Maintain the monthly billing projections, cross-reference against actual and assist in the preparation of monthly invoices to clients
  • Look for and develop efficiencies wherever possible

 Technical and Quality

  • Without necessarily being an expert, understand the technology being used (Workamajig - project management tool) in order to understand questions and requests coming from clients
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in Workamajig
  • Understand relevant methodologies, processes and standards and ensure that all project team members understand and also follow these
  • Own the project’s commitment to quality
  • Develop project management expertise to share and mentor
  • Assist the VP in the implementation of new project management tools and best practices

At the end of the day,

  • The Project Manager will be successful if jobs are delivered on spec, on time, on budget and the client is delighted.
