Digital Strategist

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Strategist, the Digital Strategist is a trusted advisor to our non-profit clients, who assesses their needs and develops digital strategies for communication and fundraising programs that complement the overall marketing strategy. The successful incumbent will have a passion for, and understanding of non-profits, and will lead the development of client digital strategy while ensuring a successful overall execution.


What you’ll do in the role:

  • Lead the development of client digital strategy and collaborate with teams on creative development, media management and coordinate the overall execution
  • Collaborate with account managers to effectively develop digital campaign tactics, considering the interplay between other fundraising channels
  • Collaborate with the digital project manager to establish project requirements and deliverables
  • Form data pull requests for internal teams and clients
  • Assess and understand fundraising platform capabilities and functionality, and data management requirements to develop executable and measurable fundraising strategies
  • Understand how digital strategies, tactics, and tracking need to be constructed for effective monitoring, evaluation and presentation of campaign results
  • Collaborate with account and creative teams on campaign brainstorm and assist in the development of the campaign creative and messaging to meet objectives
  • Partner with the project, media and creative teams to ensure flawless execution and active optimization of digital campaigns against authored plans
  • Review, evaluate and recommend changes to client results and testing schemas for each campaign
  • Manage internal client expectations, make persuasive recommendations and outline the impact if the client overrides the recommendations
  • Analyze results from primary research to ensure insights are integrated into future work; adapt digital marketing strategies to reflect changes in customer behaviors
  • Understand and apply customer experience best practices to design customer journeys, incorporating email, digital ads and landing page design
  • Evaluate new technologies or marketing opportunities and take an active role in advancing the agency’s digital capabilities, emerging digital trends, ideas and best practices
  • Act as a backup for the Email and Digital Deployment Specialist, preparing and deploying emails and creating customer journeys or automations
  • Produce regular campaign wrap-up reports to be presented internally and to clients

You bring to the role:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar Digital Marketing role; progressive experience with non-profit online marketing and fundraising programs will be considered
  • Solid understanding of email, web, social media, search, mobile and digital advertising strategies and techniques is necessary to be successful in this role
  • Strong technical skills with experience using non-profit fundraising tools like Blackbaud/ Luminate, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, Constant Contact, Emma, Online Express and/or Every Action
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics and hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager is required
  • Experience with Facebook Business Manager, Google Adwords and other prominent media platforms
  • Working knowledge of UX tools like Hotjar or CrazyEgg and landing page testing tools like Unbouce or Optimizely
  • Agency or vendor experience is considered an asset
