CONSULTING PROJECT MANAGER

About the role

Reporting to the Consulting Practice Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Account Management team and other internal departments on a variety of Consulting projects. This newly created role will lead the entire project life cycle, managing data-driven projects with multiple stakeholders and ensuring successful project deliveries that are on time, within budget and meeting high quality standards for our clients.


What you’ll do in the role:

  • Coordinate workflows, compile comprehensive work back project schedules, monitor progress of projects until completion, and follow up by coordinating project debriefs and handoffs
  • Collaborate with Consulting Analysts, Consultants, Data Services and other internal departments on work efforts to ensure work gets done on time, within budget and ensure projects are running smoothly
  • Work with lead Consultant to develop project charter, identifying roles and hours assigned, key milestone dates, project scope and approach
  • Chair the consulting project kickoff which includes setting the agenda, documenting decisions, and ensuring resources and other inputs are made available
  • Develop solutions if there are resource conflicts or project delays and ensure status updates and changes are communicated to project team and client
  • Manage client experience and expectations around key milestones and input requirements; coordinate key milestone meetings with Account team and client
  • Anticipate deviations from a plan or schedule and take necessary corrective action while keeping key participants and stakeholders informed
  • Maintain monthly billing projections, cross-reference against actual budget costs and assist in the preparation of monthly invoices to clients
  • Understand relevant methodologies, processes and standards and ensure that all project team members understand them

You bring to the role:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally working within an agency or fundraising environment; fundraising knowledge is considered a strong asset
  • Expertise managing data-driven projects with multiple stakeholders, organizing people and processes within a given timeframe
  • Experience using project management software such as Workamajig and MS Office Suite programs
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and develop effective solutions for team members and clients
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to effectively communicate details and requirements to others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders and deliver meaningful results
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
